At Rotisserie Amsterdam, there's a half or whole chicken up for grabs. That's not the only mouth-watering meat on the menu. Back by popular demand, Rotisserie Amsterdam's homemade chicken burger is the best in town according to many. Or for a lighter option, try the chicken and asparagus salad – pulled chicken and asparagus, garnished with miso, sour cream and lettuce. Rotisserie cooking has deep roots, going back to 1450 at the very least. It's been popular in the USA for years – supermarkets had their own rotisseries as far back as the 30s, and New Yorkers used to flood to stores to get their hands on some freshly roasted meat.
Inspired by this love of the dish and Brooklyn's long and vibrant food history, Rotisserie Amsterdam's owner, Erik Havermans, decided to bring it to the Netherlands. He knew that Amsterdam would be the ideal market for this meaty marvel – what could be better than succulent rotisserie chicken?
If chicken isn't your thing, Rotisserie Amsterdam is also known for its juicy burgers, barbecue pork ribs, tasty salads and sides. Opt for the double pattie burger, complete with fresh lettuce, pickles, cheddar, tomato and a secret sauce.
For the non-meat lovers, there's the solid veggie burger – a delightful combination of broccoli, Portobello mushrooms, veggie parmesan, black beans, tomato, lettuce, pickles and ranch sauce. All washed down with a local beer, glass of wine, or – our favourite – a thick and creamy Oreo milkshake.
